Kmart Rise Challenge is a Slam Dunk
To promote the launch of the new line of Risewear kicks and athletic wear, Kmart and the nation’s top 4 dunkers put on a heck of a fun show this past Saturday to compete for the right to brand their own signature capsule collection with Risewear.
Top 4 Slam Dunk Athletes
In partnership with Risewear, Kmart and the world’s top four dunking athletes; Jonathan Clark, Porter Maberry, Chris Staples, Guy Dupuy showcase their baller skills with some high flying and exciting dunking action for the packed crowd. The intense sun and humidity didn’t stop the MC, DJs, staff and street ballers drenched in sweat from putting on an epic show for the great turnout of enthusiastic fans that showed up for the fun.
Touring 6 cities including San Francisco, Miami, DC, NYC, Chicago and NJ fans were treated to an exclusive free event showcasing the new value driven Risewear line, up-close and personal meet and greet as well as free customization from graffiti artists on site.
The 3 hour event included exclusive free giveaways, gift cards and free customization by graffiti artists or laser engraving on site for the new line that includes basketball and athletic sneakers, casual shoes and sandals and men’s shoes soon to be followed by kids and women’s lines. There was also plenty of water to go around and boy did you need it!
Taurian Fontenette, current Risewear Athlete was also on site to perform and provide some guidance to a young future slam dunker from NJ.

We are having a blast with our members around the country celebrating the launch of our new ath-leisure shoe brand, Rise. The biggest rewards are seeing families and kids cheering on their favorite dunker and getting their shoes customized by the talented graffiti artists.
