It isn’t backlit so using this as your bedside clock might not work very well when you wake up in the middle of the night. While the Squirt H20 powered alarm clock is a bit of a novelty item, the premise is still pretty cool. It’s best quietly left alone on a nightstand, bathroom/kitchen counter or tabletop.

The ions in the water are converted into energy thus powering the clock. The Squirt has a built-in memory chip so it won’t reset when you’re changing the water. Bedol states it’s best to use ordinary tap water.
Water can cleanse but it can also destroy things so it’s best to change the water and make sure that it’s not leaking into any areas it’s not supposed to. If you don’t like water sitting for months, you can change out the H20 as often as you like.
The reservoir is divided down the middle with a minimum and maximum fill line on each side. The fill cap is positioned in the center above the two sides. The wall dividing the two reservoir sections doesn’t go to the top so if you can tilt the clock water will spill over. The clock will begin to display the time almost immediately after adding water. The controls are fairly simple, a combination of pressing the left and right side of the bezel. The alarm clock isn’t very loud but useful enough to alert you as a timer.
The Squirt measures 3.5″ x 4.5″ and comes in orange, green, blue purple and charcoal colors to choose from and helps the environment be just a little greener.
