The EyeVac Pro Automatic Dustpan is a touchless stationary vacuum for wherever you want to place it. Convenience is the name of the game here and the EyeVac can work very well for certain situations. While this was initially designed with Hair Salons in mind, Dog groomers, can also benefit from this household device. But the EyeVac Pro Automatic Dustpan works great in other places around the home as well. Lets take a closer look at the EyeVac Pro.
There’s really not a lot to set up and it’s always ready to go.
Remember in the 80s (or maybe you don’t) many homes had vacuum systems built into the wall? While this is a nice feature, it’s not feasible for everyone as it can surely be expensive to install a whole home system. That’s where EyeVac shines. This simple yet effective household appliance can add a minor yet noticeable convenience to your daily routine to make your life just that much easier.
EyeVac has provided us with the EyeVac Pro Automatic Dustpan so that we could provide hands on review coverage of the Touchless Vacuum and our experience with the home appliance to our readers.
Specs
The EyeVac is equipped with a powerful 1400 watt motor that loves to suck up all that debris. It’s not an air purifier but it does have a small dust filter so that dust and dirt doesn’t float its way back into your living space. Inside the canister is a small round air filter and a recessed hole where you insert the filter.
Airflow travels in through the main vacuum hole, dust and dirt go in the canister, the airflow continues its travels down through the filter hole and out the exhaust that is located on the bottom right of the unit.
The 4.8L collection canister is a easily emptied. There’s no hinge to break, just 2 plastic nibs on the bottom that anchor the container when closing the door. Very easy to remove and dump into a garbage can when it needs to be emptied.
Operating Modes
Using the Control dial you have 2 modes, Automatic and Manual. You can also choose to turn the device off completely. In automatic mode the EyeVac will simply turn itself on/off by the proximity sensor. As soon as you get close with what your sweeping, the unit turns on for as long as you have the broom near the infrared sensor. In Manual mode the unit is still on all the time but you simply tap the large button near the suction hole with your foot to activate. The unit will turn on for 7 seconds then turn itself off.
The EyeVac’s sensor detects proximity up to 26cm or about 10 inches away to turn on which feels adequate. Dimensions measure 13.5” x 9.5” x 20.5” and the unit weighs 11.4 lbs.
Real world use
This was initially designed with hair salons in mind which we can see would be an excellent asset to have. Where this also works really well is in the kitchen; high traffic/activity areas that often leaves crumbs.
We have 2 young children and even when they use plates I often ask if they got any of it in their mouths.
Crumbs
Crumbs, Crumbs and more Crumbs from… cookies, toast, potato chips, goldfish, candy shards, all of these and more exist under my son’s computer table at different times. We keep this in the computer room for that reason. We can ask him a million times to grab the dust buster but this vacuum is always there and he just needs to sweep things towards it. He still doesn’t use it as much as we’d like for him to, but he does use it and it works well for that purpose.
It’s light enough that you can periodically move it or rotate it to different areas you might get pet hair or crumbs and debris.
Dog Hair
Let’s talk dog hair. In our home, there’s a certain amount of dog hair that you need to deal with because no matter how much puppy gets groomed, brushed, de-furred, there’s tumble weeds of dog hair lurking around. While it can’t take care of the whole house, this is helpful wherever you place it. We have tried using this in the living room where he hangs out the majority of the time and it can be convenient not to have to go grab the canister vac or dust buster multiple times a day.
Entry Ways
High traffic entry ways can often track dust and dirt inside the home. Even more so when you reside on a main road or streets where things can get dusty. Your entry ways can also benefit from the EyeVac quite a bit to help defend against outside debris ruining your floors.
Shop Vac
If you’re planning to use this as a shop vac or in places where there is lots of dust it would be best to shake the filter clean now and then as it can build up the dust same as any other air filtration system. Other than that its pretty maintenance free.
While the EyeVac Pro Automatic Dustpan is convenient to have around, it won’t take the place of your traditional vacuum cleaner or Dust Buster style hand vac. You’ll still want to keep those around as they allow you to bring the vac to the material vs bringing the material to your vac.
Conclusion
Hair salons, dog groomers, dog owners, kitchens, messy children, entry ways can all benefit from the EyeVac Pro. If you have problems bending over frequently then this is the device for you. The EyeVac Pro can also be very helpful when placed in strategic places around the home.
