Specs
The Elite 50QT looks almost bulletproof and actually is bear-proof! One drawback is the weight. This thing weighs 26.39 lbs empty so you might not want to lug this thing for long distances. You can opt for a two-wheeled version if you’re planning to tote it around with you. Large grip solid molded non-moving handles make it a little easier to lift the cooler when packed. Works really well for pulling up and dropping off where the cooler might sit in the sun for long periods of time.
The coolers exterior measures 30.00″ x 20.30″ x 20.40″ with a volume of 52.87QT or approx 50 Liters. The body is made of Polypropylene with two inches of Polyurethane foam insulation inside the walls to keep the contents as cold as they can be.
Features
This is a professional grade cooler engineered with the hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman in mind. Features meaty rubber feet that are screwed into the base for when you are using it on a boat or on the dock. Built-in tie down holes on each corner give you excellent tie points to secure your cooler to the deck without losing the ability to open the cooler.
Freezer-grade rubber seal lines the lid for a tight seal similar to your refrigerator. The hinged lid secures closed with two heavy duty push button ABS latches. Closes perfectly and the latches are easy to operate.
Be careful not to wrap your fingers on the inside of the latch when you push the button to unlock the cooler or or it might bite your fingers. Easy enough to avoid, but easy to forget about. Best to push the button first, then reach down and lift each latch up after it has been unlocked rather than in one motion.
The drain plug is a screw on/off with sturdy attached and rotating ring for really easy operation and confident use. Inside the floor is beveled for quick drainage. The threaded drain will accept a standard hose so you can drain it elsewhere should you need to. The wall surface heights alternate for easy airflow. In the center seems to be a slot for divider but no accessory divider exists at this time.
Accessories
There are only two accessories available for the 50QT but very useful ones. The first is a 5lb ice pack of which you can fit two across the bottom. Using a combination of two ice packs and bags of ice provide the longest ice retention. The second is the Dry Rack Basket which has a little lip that it rests on that allows you to slide it from one side to the other.
Additionally it is recommended that you store the unit in a cool area to optimize performance and you don’t waste precious cold power chilling the cooler. If you really need it for the long haul, pre-chill the cooler with the two 5lb ice packs and a bag of ice the night before then top it off in the morning. You can go up to 10 days with ice using this simple prep.
