Specs
H20 Audio’s Ript Ultra feature large 45mm drivers with a frequency range of 20Hz – 20kHz. Battery life of 50hrs. Built-in microphones and wireless Bluetooth 5.4. There’s a physical 3.5mm audio jack comes with a storage case and an extra set of silicon cushions.
Sweatproof
The Ript Ultras are not waterproof though they are stated to be 100% sweatproof. We are unable to locate any IPX rating on the product page or box. That said, the design of the headphones deters moisture from entering into the driver area. These are not submersible but the silicon is fantastic for resiliency and does not deteriorate from sweating like faux leather would. It’s easy to lift the earcup and wipe away sweat if it becomes excessive.
If you spin off the ear cushion there is a very thin and sheer mesh layer that will try to deter moisture from entering into the driver area.
They haven’t let us down yet. Meaning they are still working well after a few months. However, if you sweat excessively, sweat CAN pool up inside the ear cups so it may be best to lift the earcup off occasionally and wipe off with a sweat rag if you are sweating profusely.
The silicon keeps your earpads sweatproof, it does not absorb at all so all that sweat will dribble where it dribbles FYI.
It’s important to note that the Ript Ultras come with a 1 year manufacturing warranty.
Active & Passive Noise Cancellation
The Ript Ultras offer 30db of ANC that works in tandem with your PNC. The Passive noise cancellation is also excellent with the over-the-ear design and further reduces exterior noise. The silicon ear cups are very comfy and seal up the area around your ear very well without causing discomfort. While they do not explicitly state a DB reduction in the passive noise cancellation it does help. The PNC alone does enhance the overall effectiveness of the noise cancellation overall. Typical noise reducing earplugs avg around a reduction of about 10-20db give or take.

They are excellent if you like to work out with music. At the gym, they are just so many just audible distractions: the clanking, the conversation, the grunting, and there just might be music blasting that you just can’t deal with. Whether you are at the gym or at home, the ANC in tandem with the PNC let you really focus on your workout.
You don’t have to be active to enjoy the benefits of the ANC/PNC. These work great at the desk as well when you have distractions at the office or at home. Easily cut out any background noise that invades your mind.
When ANC is engaged music seems to get louder with more impact, a nice by product of the ANC. We’re not talking about studio reference headphone quality here. This is all around, pleasing and tuned for the masses to make most anything sound good which generally means lower mids, with clean bass and highs.
Comfort & Listening Experience
These things are incredibly comfortable, maybe the most comfortable set of cans I’ve ever used. They have an exceptional contour hugging design that do not give me headphone fatigue as much as other headphones do. It is quite counter-intuitive initially to wear these while working out but that feeling quickly diminishes. Without even realizing it I was hyper-focused on my workout technique.
While we love these for stationary workouts, we would prefer not to use them for running outdoors. They are very comfy and contour hugging but when you turn your head quickly or are bouncing from the impact of running I might choose a different set of headphones. Possibly ear buds in that case or perhaps even H20s Tri 2 Pro Multi-sport headphones would work better when I am running.

Audio Quality
Audio Quality is very good. Large 45mm drivers deliver rich and well-rounded sound for music. They’re tuned to sound well for the vast majority of music and they’ve done a pretty good job of it.
Bass is thick and meaty without drowning out details of the mids and highs. These are not studio headphones for raw sound so if you want reference headphones these are not it.
They work better for us for music and calls than for movies but we aren’t really using these for that. They do work in a pinch and are acceptable to use so feel free to take them with you on a flight or trip. The Ript Ultras also features an airplane mode for compliance.
What’s good
Durable headphones for activity and workouts
Good noise cancellation with ANC/PNC in tandem
Premium sound quality (everyone has their preference but out of the box these seem to be tuned fine for music)
Lightweight and convenient to take with you, they fold up just like Beats headphones.
What could be better
For as much as they are advertised as sweatproof the moisture can really pool up inside the earcups if you sweat excessively.
The price is a tiny bit steep.

That’s a Wrap
The H20 Audio Ript Ultra over-the-ear noise cancelling headphones offer overall excellent audio quality, durability with it’s sweatproof design and long lasting battery life. Take these with you to the gym or on the plane. Use them to game or even for the occasional phone call the Ript Ultras’ won’t let you down with its built-in microphone. The Ript Ultra’s sweatproof design lets you focus on your workout without outside distractions and worry that you are damaging them.
