Apple’s iPhone 13 Pro Max & Pro: What’s good about 13?

iPhone 13 Pro Max unveiled

Announced at this years’ Apple event, the new iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro boast a new improved camera system, capable of better low light photos and macro photography ability. Pre-Orders are already underway.

Apple continues to move forward with the current design of the iPhone. We can’t help but feel it falls flat in terms of design since it follows the iPhone 12 which also closely resembles the iPhone 4 & iPhone 5 design. That said, the iPhone 13 Pro Max/Pro look well-made, solid & polished as you might expect an Apple product to be. Let’s take a closer look at the important stuff.

What’s good about 13?

iPhone 13 Pro Max & iPhone 13 Pro Display sizes

iPhone 13 Pro Max & iPhone 13 Pro improved cameras

Three onboard Cameras

The new iPhone 13’s come with 3x cameras like on the Galaxy ZFold 3 vs the 5x cameras on the Galaxy S21 Ultra. But just like the newest Galaxy devices, the iPhone 13 Pro Max & 13 Pro don’t have a micro-sd card port, no headphone jack so no headphones and certainly no wall plug! That’s even less than the Galaxy which comes with a sim card tool.

Battery Life & Storage

Battery Life specs are creatively listed since Apple does tend to use hardware that is slightly less performance oriented than its’ android counterparts. What Apple does do is optimize performance of their hardware very well. To gauge it, the iPhone 12 gives 15hrs of video playback using an Li-Ion 2815 mAh battery vs the 22hrs of video playback on the iPhone 13 Pro.

Both new iPhones support Fast-charge with a 20W wall adapter, 15W wireless charging with MagSafe charger but only 7.5W via Qi wireless. Storage options offered w/ prices for the 13 Pro Max as follows: 128GB $1099, 256GB $1199, 512GB $1399, 1TB $1599 storage options. The 13 Pro follows suite except all the prices are $100 less.

That’s a Wrap

Apple’s new iPhone 13 Pro Max & iPhone 13 Pro feature a new CPU, new GPU, improved camera system capable of macro-photography, with a display that aims to wow you with its’ native 120Hz refresh rates and ultra bright contrast ratio and True Tone wide color gamut. If you’re already an iPhone 12 Pro Max user it remains to be seen whether this is an upgrade worth an upgrade. We shall see, stay tuned.
